Las 10 canciones del 2011 VI


Pocas personas dentro del rock me generan tanta admiracion como Stephin Merrit, el genial compositor de New York que en el disco de su banda Magnetic Fields, 69 Love Songs, agoto las posibilidades de la musica popular romantica y, al mismo tiempo, abrio infinitas puertas de inspiracion a nuevos artistas que lo citan como principal influencia. Merrit es el autor de las letras mas inteligentes del mercado, sin dudas, con un estilo que es a la vez directo y elusivo, reflejo quizas de su esquiva personalidad.

Queria compartir con ustedes la erudita lista que Merrit elaboro para la revista Time Out NY, en la que detalla las mejores canciones del siglo XX año por año, un esfuerzo que resulta muy enriquecedor para el desprevendio lector. Disfruten.

PS: Ya tengo el úlitmo de los GBV y eso me hace mejor persona.

Otra cosa increible que relatan en la pelicula es que, al notar que no habia muchos artistas negros en la lista que elaboro, y luego de un comentario medio gracioso sobre una pelicula considerada racista, lo acusaron de anti negro y querian boicotear sus discos.

Los gringos estan hechos mierda.
